Today I want to talk about one of the most important coverages that you can have on your motor vehicle policy: Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. Most insurance agencies don’t like to talk about uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage because it provides you a lot of protection at a small cost while leaving them with a lot of exposure.

When you buy insurance, you’re most likely thinking about preventing someone else causing an accident and coming after you. This is, of course, important, but equally important is having coverage that protects you if the other person doesn’t have any coverage or it is inadequate. This is where uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage comes into play.

We recommend that you have at least $100,000 in protection added for uninsured or underinsured motorists.

You can purchase this with your policy and it will cover you everywhere you go. It doesn’t matter if you’re driving, a passenger, on a bicycle, or a pedestrian; you’re covered if you get injured by a motorist.

We recommend that you have at least $100,000 in protection added for uninsured or underinsured motorists so that you have the coverage you need if something happens.

If you have any questions about this or any other questions about car or motorcycle accidents, please give us a call. We’re here to help.
