We just finalized a $1,500,000 settlement for our client that fell in the parking lot of a shopping center due to a dangerous defect in the parking lot. Our client suffered significant injuries that required a spine surgery.Initially, the insurance company denied the claim in full. They refused to make any offer and forced us to file a lawsuit. After Attorney Taylor Gaines filed suit and went through discovery, we were able to get the insurance company to make an offer but it was way too low to settle the case. We continued on with litigation and eventually got the case into mediation where we reached an agreement to settle the case for $1.5 million dollars.
