Robert Hamparyan

Robert Hamparyan has been Of Counsel to Batta Fulkerson since the firm first opened its doors. He has practiced personal injury and civil trial law in San Diego for three decades, representing clients in car and truck accidents, wrongful death, premises liability, elder and nursing home abuse, and catastrophic injury cases, and he serves as the firm's representative attorney for sexual assault and abuse claims.

Education and Bar Admission

Robert earned his B.A. from the University of Southern California and his Juris Doctor from Western State University College of Law. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1996 and is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Central Districts of California.

Case Results

Over his career, Robert has recovered more than $100 million for clients, including more than 40 individual case results of $1 million or more. His results span car and truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, wrongful death, premises liability, and elder and nursing home abuse, and include some of the largest sexual abuse verdicts and settlements in California: a $70 million verdict for a high school student sexually abused by a teacher, a $215 million settlement on behalf of 93 women in an institutional abuse case, and a $3.75 million settlement for a survivor abused by a priest as a child. He brings that same experience to Batta Fulkerson's sexual assault and abuse practice, covering institutional abuse, rideshare assault, and workplace and school assault claims. Early in his career he worked on the insurance side, learning firsthand how insurance companies evaluate and defend against claims, knowledge he now uses on behalf of the people they insure against. He has a reputation for taking cases to trial rather than settling for less than a client deserves, and maintains a 98% success rate in the cases he takes on.

Awards and Professional Memberships

Robert is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and an inductee of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL), two of the most selective trial lawyer organizations in the country. He is also a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, was named San Diego County's Top Attorney multiple years running, has been recognized as a Super Lawyer nearly every year since 2009, and received the 2008 Trial Lawyer of the Year award, the highest honor a trial lawyer can receive in the region.
