Taylor Gaines is our newest associate, and he’s here today to share his story and what his role will at Batta Fulkerson will be.
Taylor Gaines, our newest associate, joins us today to introduce himself and talk about what his role will be at our firm.
Taylor was born and raised right here in San Diego, but he attended middle school and high school in the Bay Area. After he graduated, he moved back to San Diego to begin law school and start his legal career.
For the first five and a half years of his career, he worked in criminal law. He describes practicing in criminal defense as a “great experience” which allowed him to work a lot of jury trials and gain valuable experience.
When he made the decision to transition from the criminal to the civil justice system, he wanted to make sure he was doing something that was helping good people.

“I prided myself on that when I was at the public defender’s office,” he explains. “I was able to help out a lot of good people, so I wanted to make sure I got the right fit and I was at a place that had the same kind of mentality.”
Luckily, he was able to find that once he joined us.
Moving forward, Taylor will work in the litigation department alongside head litigator Ed Meara. Ed has 30 years of experience working in this field, so Taylor’s confident he’ll be able to learn a lot.
