Charlotte Najar is the newest attorney and addition to the Batta Fulkerson team. She trained under Robert Hamparyan, an incredible trial attorney here in San Diego. Today we’ll be asking her a few questions about her career and why she chose to join the team.
What excites you about joining the Batta Fulkerson team?
I’m so excited to be a part of the Batta Fulkerson family because one, I’m their first female attorney, which I think is pretty incredible; and two, because I have an opportunity to help grow and develop the incredible litigation department here at the firm, which seems to be taking over San Diego. I’m so excited to be a part of that.
What do you like about being a personal injury attorney?
I love doing personal injury cases because I love helping people. One of my favorite moments from the past year occurred while working at Robert Hamparyan’s office on a case with Batta Fulkerson: We were able to obtain a $1.5 million settlement for one of our clients. The client, a single woman and hairdresser who had been working her entire life to take care of her children, was so badly injured in her neck and back that she had to stop working. She had struggled for the last year and a half, but when we got her the settlement, it changed her life. I will never forget being able to help somebody in that capacity.

What is the most exciting part of working with the Batta Fulkerson team?
The most exciting part about working with Batta Fulkerson is that I get to play with bulldogs every single day. When Dan, a partner here at the firm, doesn’t bring his dogs in, I will be pretty upset because it was part of our agreement when I decided to come over to the firm.
Another part of why I’m going to love working with Batta Fulkerson is the culture of the firm. It’s an incredible family where everybody loves each other and works great together. In doing this type of work, it’s really important to work with a team of people who get along on the inside, and who really love and care about each other.
What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not working?
My favorite thing to do when I’m not working is actually working out; I’m kind of a gym rat. For years, I was a fitness competitor, and I just really love being in the gym. It’s my “drug of choice,” if you will. It keeps me sane.
