Litigation Attorney

Micaela grew up in California’s Central Valley, moving to San Diego to become an Aztec. She graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and later from California Western School of Law, magna cum laude. While in law school, she served as an editor and was published in the Law Review and competed on the school’s nationally recognized trial team. She has since returned to the program as a coach, helping law students hone their trial and advocacy skills. Micaela began her career as a defense attorney, working in-house for two of the largest insurance companies in the country. She litigated hundreds of cases on their behalf, working closely with insurance adjusters and learning the ins and outs of personal injury practice from the defense perspective. Micaela quickly gained a reputation as a tenacious advocate and was routinely called on to step in to try cases in the final weeks before trial. She successfully tried over a dozen cases to verdict before deciding to utilize her unique knowledge and perspective to represent plaintiffs exclusively. Outside her life as a litigator, Micaela is a volunteer baker for a non-profit that provides birthday and celebration cakes to foster youth. She is an avid sports fan and most of all, enjoys spending time with her young son and her husband, who says he will never sit by her at a Little League game.
