In New York, Mr. Edward Meara clerked for the Honorable J. Daniel Mahoney on the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in New York City, and then worked as an associate in the offices of Coudert Brothers. In 1992 Ed Meara moved to Los Angeles, continuing as an associate in the Los Angeles office of Coudert Brothers.
Ed Meara moved his family to San Diego in 1995, trying cases for top San Diego insurance defense firms. Seven years later in 2002, Mr. Meara began a ten year stint as in-house trial counsel for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. Ed graduated from the Liberty Mutual trial attorney program in Massachusetts, where he mastered all the tricks of the trade, which he would soon put to use for the benefit of accident victims.
Starting in 2012, and armed with twenty five years of knowledge and trial experience, Ed shifted gears. He now devotes his talents exclusively to representing accident victims. With over twenty five years experience as a top trial lawyer in New York and California, Ed joined Batta Fulkerson Law Group in 2016. Born and raised in New York, Mr. Meara attended Manhattan College in New York City. He majored in English, and graduated with honors. Ed then received a scholarship and attended law school at prestigious Pace University, in White Plains, New York, where he was a member of the Law Review.
Before beginning his career as an attorney, Ed served as Sergeant in the United States Army as an Atomic Demolition Munitions Specialist in Europe, where he became conversant in German, Spanish, Russian and French. He is also a Distinguished Graduate of the Third Infantry Division NCO Academy, Rock of the Marne.
Ed is married to Cori Meara with whom he has two sons, Douglas MacArthur Meara and Mitchell William Meara. And, like all other members of the firm, Ed is a dog lover. In addition to his human family, Ed spends quality time with his French Basset Hound, Gracie.
